Three members of the Calvin University men's basketball program earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday.
Luka Ressler (Caledonia, Mich/Catholic Central),
Trevin Winkle (McBain, Mich./Northern Michigan Christian) and
Zion Ruckard (Aurora, Colo./Eaglecrest/St. Thomas Aquinas) each received the award.
To earn a spot on the CSC Academic All-District Team, individuals must have maintained a cumulative 3.50 grade point average (GPA) and either appeared in over 90 percent of the team's games during the current season or started a minimum of 67 percent of the games. Freshmen are not eligible for nomination.
Calvin men's basketball finished the 2025-26 season with a 19-8 record, including a 10-4 record in MIAA play.
Luka Ressler
Ressler was named CSC Academic All-District for the second consecutive season as a senior. A four-year starter at point guard, Ressler averaged 9.2 points, 4.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game while starting all 27 games and leading the Knights with 48 three-point filed goals on 42.5 percent shooting from distance. Ressler finished his four-year career third in program history with 330 career assists to go with 827 career points.
An exercise science major with a 3.73 GPA, Ressler is also a three-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll honoree and has made the Calvin Dean's List seven times.
Trevin Winkle
Winkle earned his first career CSC Academic All-District honor following his second consecutive All-MIAA Second Team season as a senior. In 27 games as a starter, Winkle finished second on the Knights in points (13.1) and rebounds (6.0) per game, while also ranking third in assists per game (3.0). His totals in points, rebounds and assists set new career highs and he finished his career with 791 career points.
A health and education major with a 3.67 GPA, Winkle is also a three-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll and seven-time Calvin Dean's List honoree.
Zion Ruckard
Ruckard earned CSC Academic All-District honors as a graduate student after transferring to Calvin from St. Thomas Aquinas College. Ruckard played in all 27 games for Calvin off the bench and provided a critical spark for the Knights while averaging 6.3 points per game, including a season-high 17 points at Alma College on February 18.
A graduate student studying for his master's degree in business administration, Ruckard has a 3.93 GPA as a graduate student after holding a 3.9 GPA as an undergrad.
