Drew Garrison was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week for men's lacrosse on Tueday.
Garrison (Worthington, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) won the honor following the Knights 11-8 win over Capital University in the season opener on Saturday, February 14.
In the win, Garrison picked up where he left off last season, leading the Knights with five ground balls and four caused turnovers while playing a big role in holding Capital to just a 59 percent clearing percentage.
The Knights scored three early goals to take the lead while Garrison and the defense held Capital to only three goals in the first three periods.
This marks the second time Garrison has been named MIAA Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week in his career.
Calvin men's lacrosse will return to action on Saturday, February 21, when it travels to Illinois Tech for a game scheduled to start at 1:00 PM (CT).
