Peyton Pratt was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week for Women's Soccer on Monday.
Pratt (Middleville, Mich./Thornapple Kellogg/Delta CC) earned the honor after helping the 20th-ranked Knights to a 2-0 week to open MIAA play with wins at Adrian College (5-0) and against Saint Mary's College (4-0).
A starting middle back on defense, Pratt was part of a defensive effort last week that secured two shutout wins and allowed only three total shots (two on goal) in 180 minutes of play. In Saturday's win over Saint Mary's, Pratt and the Knights held the Belles without a shot or a corner kick.
This season, Pratt and the Knights have held opponents to only six total goals for a 0.67 goals against average and have recorded six shutouts on the way to an 8-1-0 record.
Calvin women's soccer returns to action tonight (October 5) when it hosts Illinois Tech in a match scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.
