The Calvin University women's volleyball team jumped up one spot to number-11 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)-Taraflex top 25 poll.
The Knights were ranked 12th in last week's poll and recorded a 2-0 record with big conference wins over Hope College (3-1) and Albion College (3-1).
Earlier today, sophomore
Sarah Bradley (Clarkston, Mich./Everest Collegiate) was named the
AVCA Division III National Player of the Week for her performance in the two wins.
Led by head coach Dr.
Amber Warners, Calvin is currently 18-2 overall and 5-0 in the MIAA standings. Calvin has won 10 consecutive matches.
The Knights are also ranked 13th in the Division III National Power Index (NPI) ratings. The NPI rankings use a metric algorithm based on wins and losses as well as the records of opponents played during the season. It is used for seeding purposes for the 64-team NCAA III Tournament as well as to determine the 21 teams that receive at-large bids to the NCAA III Tournament.
Calvin returns to action on Thursday, October 29, when it travels to The University of Olivet.
