Calvin University senior libero Tryna Vander Zwaag was named MIAA Specialist of the Week for volleyball on Monday.

Vander Zwaag (Hamilton, Mich./Holland Christian) won the honor after another strong week in helping the 12th-ranked Knights to wins over Hope College (3-1) and Albion College (3-1) and improve to 18-2 on the season and 5-0 in league play.

After recording 26 digs in the four-set win over Hope, Vander Zwaag added 21 more digs to help Calvin defeat Albion on October 24. She also added nine total assists and three service aces over the two matches.

This season, Vander Zwaag is averaging a career-high 4.41 digs per set. She has now recorded at least 20 digs in six matches this season, including each of the last three.

This marks the second time this season and the third time in her career that Vander Zwaag has been named MIAA Volleyball Specialist of the Week.

Calvin women's volleyball will return to action on Thursday, October 29, when it plays at The University of Olivet.
