The Calvin University men's volleyball team received the Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Monday.
 
The award, sponsored by INTENT, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that maintain a team cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.3 or higher throughout the school year.

Calvin produced a team grade average of 3.318 over the course of the 2024-25 academic year.

It marks the first year Calvin has received the award. The Knights are led by head coach Spencer Fredrick. Calvin is one of more than 1,400 teams nationwide at the high school and collegiate level to receive the award.
 
The Knights finished the 2025 men's volleyball season with an 8-18 record, a boost of two wins over its inaugural 2024 campaign.
 
The 2026 Calvin University volleyball season will open at Lakeland on Friday, January 23, at Lakeland College (Wisc.).
