DECATUR, Ill. – The Calvin University men's golf team shot a season-low round of 284 on Saturday at South Side Country Club to finish third at the two-day Take Back the Night tournament hosted by Millikin University.
Calvin entered the day in a tie for seventh place after an opening round 296, but shaved 12 strokes off that total on Saturday on the par-70 course to set a new season low total and jump into third place in the final standings. The Knights finished with a tournament total of 580 strokes.
The Knights finished with two players finish in the top five (out of 116 total) players with matching two-day totals of 142.
Jackson Glanzer (Stevensville, Mich./Berrien Springs) shot 69 on Saturday to finish with 142 total to tie for fifth place, while
Matt Turcotte (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian) shot 73 on Saturday after a 69 on Friday for his 142.
Ethan Tiller (Kalamazoo, Mich./Portage Central) shot even par 70 on Saturday to finish in a tie for 21st place with a two-day total of 145.
Jack Marzolino (Byron Center, Mich./Byron Center) shot 72 to finish with a 151 for the weekend to finish in a tie for 43rd place.
Greg Braun (Northville, Mich./Northville) shot 73 in the final round to tie for 48th place with a total score of 152 strokes.
Illinois Wesleyan University won the event with a two-day score of 559 strokes. UW-Eau Claire finished second with 564.

Brian Bolt said. "We climbed from seventh after day one to third by shooting 284, the low round of the day. All five guys put together a complete round on a golf course that we had not seen before. That shows a tremendous amount of golf acumen and maturity."
