RESULTS
ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Calvin men's golf team opened competition at the Hope College Bob Ebels Invitational by firing a day one team score of 311 strokes. Calvin's B' Team also competed and came in with a day one team score of 318 strokes.
The two-day tournament is being held at the Meadows Golf Course on the campus of Grand Valley State University. Playing conditions were cool and sunny with early spring winds making ball control difficult at times.
Calvin's A' Team was led by junior
Matt Turcotte (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian HS) who fired a round of 75, good for 11
th place individually. Junior
Jack Marzolino (Byron Center, Mich./Byron Center HS) is tied for 21
st with a day one round of 77. Senior
Jackson Glanzer (Stevensville, Mich. Berrien Springs) had a 79 and sophomore Breg Braun (Northville, Mich./Northville HS) an 80 to round out Calvin's A' Team.
Calvin's B' Team was paced by sophomore
Ethan Tiller (Kalamazoo, Mich./Portage Central HS) with a round of 77 good for a tie for 21
st place in the individual standings. Sophomore
Josiah McClelland (Vicksburg, Mich. Vicksburg) had a round of 78, leaving him in 28
th place. Sophomore
Eli Timmerman (Hamilton, Mich./Hamilton HS) had an 80. Sophomore
Sam Timmer (Keene, N.H. Keene) had an 83 and freshman
Reuben Kok (Redlands, Calif. Arrowhead Christian Academy) an 86.
Sixth-ranked Aurora University (Division III) leads the team standings with a day one score of 291. Wheaton (Il.) is second at 301.
Action continues on Saturday with tee times set for 10 a.m. at The Meadows.
