Calvin Women's Lacrosse Places Third in MIAA Preseason Poll

Today the MIAA released the 2024 Preseason Poll where the Knights were picked to finish third with a total of 34 points. Hope is the preseason favorite, finishing with 49 total points and all seven possible first-place votes. The Thunder from Trine claimed the second place spot with 40 points while Kalamazoo matched Calvin's 34 points, resulting in a tie for third.
 
Calvin finished the 2024 season with a record of 5-9 overall and a 3-4 record in MIAA play, putting them in sixth in the final standings. This season the Knights return a trio of 2024 Second Team All-MIAA honorees: junior attacker Morgan Bethard (DeWitt, Mich./DeWitt), senior midfielder Meghan Chang (Clarksburg, Md./Clarksburg), and junior midfielder Jacey Smith (Watertown, Wis./Watertown).
 
Smith led the team last year with 35 goals while Bethard tallied 33 goals. Chang finished her season with 29 goals and a team high 15 assists.
 
The Knights, lead by head coach Blake Boehm, will kick off their 2025 campaign later this month on Saturday, February 22nd when they take on Bethel University at Zuidema Field at 1PM.
