Calvin University graduate student
Sydney Radigan was named MIAA Indoor Track Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Radigan (Portland, Ore./St. Stephen's Academy) won the honor after a record-breaking performance in the Knights' first meet of the indoor season at Grand Valley State University on Friday, December 5.
At the meet, Radigan broke the Calvin indoor record in both the 200 meters and the 60 meters. Her time of 24.13 in the 200 meters shattered her own Calvin record and won an event featuring more than 90 athletes (including more than 60 NCAA I and II athletes) ranks as both the fourth-fastest time in NCAA III history (fastest ever in December) and the fastest time in MIAA history.
She also broke the Calvin record with a time of 7.61 in the 60 meters, which currently ranks second in NCAA III and the region, as well as first in the MIAA.
Calvin indoor track and field will return to action on January 23 at GVSU.
