Calvin University freshman
Dasha Mason was named MIAA Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Mason (Graham, Wash./Graham Kapowisn) won the honor after a strong meet at Grand Valley State University in her first ever collegiate competition on Friday, December 5.
At the GVSU meet, Mason finished fourth (behind only NCAA I athletes) in the triple jump with a mark of 11.49 meters that currently ranks first in the region and the MIAA and sixth in NCAA III.
That mark is also second all-time on the Calvin Indoor list and would rank as the top jump in the MIAA for at least the last decade.
Calvin indoor track and field will return to action on January 23 at GVSU.
