Drake Irwin was named MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week for football on Monday.

Irwin (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) won the honor for his performance as a punter in the Knights' 50-20 win over The University of Olivet on Saturday, November 1 to improve Calvin's record to 6-2 on the season and 3-2 in league play.

In the win, Irwin punted four times for an average of 42.5 yards that included two punts inside the 20-yard line and a longest punt of 56 yards.

This season, Irwin ranks third in the MIAA with an average of 41.3 yards per punt on 27 attempts, including four punts inside the 20 and a league-best five punts of at least 50 yards.

The Calvin football team will return to action on Saturday, November 8, when it travels to Hope College for a game scheduled to kick off at 5:00 PM.
