RESULTS
Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Calvin men's golf team used home course advantage to take first place at the final fall MIAA Jamboree of the season on Monday. Hosting MIAA Jamboree #4 at the nearby Watermark Country Club, Calvin took first place at Monday's competition, finishing with a final team score of 297, one stroke ahead of Trine University.
With 36 holes of MIAA golf yet to decide the final league champion and NCAA III qualifying spot next spring, Calvin sits just two strokes behind Trine in the overall (MIAA) team standings and sits 12 strokes ahead of third place Hope.
Senior
Matt Turcotte (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian HS) led the way for the Knights with an even-par round of 72 that was good for second place individually on Monday. Turcotte remains in first place in the overall MIAA individual standings with a (four-round) average of 72.25 strokes-per-round.
Juniors
Ethan Tiller (Kalamazoo, Mich./Portage Central HS) and Jack Marzalino (Byron Center, Mich./Byron Center HS) and sophomore
Ford Erickson (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) tied for seventh with rounds of 75. Freshman
Ian Tuin (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Christian HS) rounded out Calvin's team scorers with a round of 80.
Competing individually for Calvin were sophomore
Reuben Kok (Redlands, Calif./Arrowhead Christian Academy) with a round of 75, freshman
Brody Montsma (Grand Rapids, Mich./South Christian HS) with a round of 77, junior
Sam Timmer (Keene, N.H. /Keene HS) and freshman
Rilley Briggs (Portage, Mich./Vicksburg HS) with rounds of 78, junior
Josiah McClelland (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg HS) with an 81 and sophomore
Dylan Clark (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) with an 85.
Jack Besner of Trine was the Monday medalist with a one-under par round of 71.

Brian Bolt. "It was a tight match and it was great to finish in first place on our home course. I'm proud of all 11 players for their contributions today. We look forward to wrapping up our fall campaign next week at the Region V Showcase."
NEXT UP: Calvin will conclude its fall season on October 20 and 21 when it competes at the (NCAA III) Region V Showcase in Port Clinton, Ohio.
