The tournament featured 18 teams playing 36 holes on the day, with players teeing off early Tuesday morning and finishing their second rounds late Tuesday evening.

The Knights finished the morning round in fourth place with a team score of 307 but jumped into second place overall with a second-round score of 301 for a tournament total of 608 strokes.

Freshman Dylan Clark (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) was stellar in his collegiate debut, shooting an opening round 74 and carding a one-under par 71 in round two to finish one-over par overall. Jackson Glanzer (Stevensville, Mich./Berrien Springs) also improved on his opening round 83 with a 75 in round two for a total of 158 in 31st place, while Jack Marzolino (Byron Center, Mich./Byron Center) carded a total of 160 (78-82) in 44th place.

Playing individually, Eli Timmerman (Hamilton, Mich./Hamilton) finished in 55th place with a total score of 164 (80-84).

Aurora University's top team took first place with a two-round tally of 573. St. Norbert (613) and Lake Forest (613) followed Calvin in a tie for third place, while Hope (616) rounded out the top five.

COACH'S COMMENT: "Great first tournament for Dylan Clark, who finished tied for fourth out of 92 golfers with rounds of 74 and 71," Calvin head men's golf coach Brian Bolt said. "Finishing second is a testament to the team's hard work and resilience. The team showed great character on the course, and this experience will only make them stronger for the challenges ahead. We will keep pushing, and the wins will come."

NEXT UP: Calvin men's golf will return to action on Tuesday, September 10, when it plays in the first MIAA event of the season at Pine River Country Club in Alma, Michigan. The event is the first of four fall MIAA tournaments that count toward the conference standings.
