TECUMSEH, Mich. – The Calvin University men's golf team finished the two-day Irish Hills Invite at Tecumseh Golf Course with two teams in the top four on Saturday.
The Calvin 'A' group shot the lowest team score on the course (298) on day two and finished second place overall with a two-day total of 604.
The Knights also had two players finish in a four-way tie for first place, as both
Dylan Clark (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) and
Greg Braun (Northville, Mich./Northville) shot two-day totals of 149.
Clark shot 74 on Saturday after carding a 75 on Friday to lead the 'A' group.
Ethan Tiller (Kalamazoo, Mich./Portage Central) shot 73 on Saturday and finished in a tie for ninth with a tournament score of 152, followed by
Jackson Glanzer (Stevensville, Mich./Berrien Springs) in a tie for 12th place with a 154 (78, 76).
Jack Marzolino (Byron Center, Mich./Byron Center) shot 157 (74, 83) over the two days to tie for 22nd place, while
Matt Turcotte (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian) finished tied for 27th with a score of 159 (84, 75).
Braun entered the day in first place after a Friday score of 70 and shot 79 on Saturday to lead the 'B' group that finished in fourth place in the team competition with a two-day tally of 620 after shooting a 318 team score on Saturday.
Josiah McClelland (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg) finished 18th with a tournament score of 156 (75, 81), followed by
Eli Timmerman (Hamilton, Mich./Hamilton) in a tie for 22nd place with a 157 (81, 76).
Ford Erickson (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) shot a two-day total of 159 (76, 83) to tie for 27th place, while
Charles Uzelac (St. Joseph, Mich./St. Joseph) finished with 164 after matching rounds of 82.
Spring Arbor's 'A' team won the event with a two-day total of 599 strokes, with Adrian's 'A' team taking third with 614.
NEXT UP: Calvin men's golf will return to action for the two-day Midwest Fall Classic at Brightondale Golf Course in Kansasville, Wisconsin. The two-day event starts on Friday (September 20) at 9 AM CT, and will conclude on Saturday (September 21).
