TECUMSEH, Mich. – The Calvin University men's golf team closed the fall season with a first-place finish at MIAA Jamboree #4 hosted by Adrian College at Tecumseh Golf Club on Saturday.
Calvin finished the one-day event with a total team score of 293, tying its lowest team score from of the four MIAA fall events this season. The Knights' team score proved eight strokes better than second place Trine University (301) and 10 better than third place Adrian College (303) and Hope College (303).
The top four Calvin finishers each shot 75 or better on the day, with
Matt Turcotte (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian) leading the way with a one-under par 71 that tied him for second place in the individual standings.
Ethan Tiller (Kalamazoo, Mich./Portage Central) was the next Calvin finisher with a one-over par 73, tying him for sixth place.
Two other Calvin players took home top 10 finishes, as
Dylan Clark (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) and
Jack Marzolino (Byron Center, Mich./Byron Center) each carded rounds of 74. Marzolino shot his score playing as an individual and did not count towards the team total.
Jackson Glanzer (Stevensville, Mich./Berrien Springs) shot 75 to tie for 11th place, while
Greg Braun (Northville, Mich./Northville) tied for 15th place with a 76.
Ford Erickson (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) also played individually and tied for 40th place with an 82.
The Knights entered Saturday's round in third place in the MIAA standings and made up ground on both teams in front of them. The Knights are now nine strokes behind second place Trine, while Hope College leads the Knights by 19 strokes heading into the two spring MIAA events.

Brian Bolt said. "Our guys battled a tough course and gave a complete effort. This is a good way to end our fall season, and we will be eager to get back at it again in the spring."
NEXT UP: The fourth MIAA Jamboree event was the final competition of the fall season for the Calvin men's golf team. The Knights will return to action for the spring season, with dates to be announced at a later time.
