Calvin Teams Rank High in NCAA III Attendance Led by National Leader Women's Volleyball

Calvin University has finished high in attendance in several sports categories for the 2022-23 academic year.

Leading the list is the Calvin women's volleyball program which led the nation in attendance for the 2022 season, averaging 778 fans-per-match at Van Noord Arena. The Calvin women's volleyball team finished with a total of 11,676 fans spread over 15 home matches. Calvin's top attendance matches including 1,508 spectators at its September 28 match against rival Hope, 1,139 spectators at its November 11 match against UW-Oshkosh in the NCAA III Regional semifinals and its 1,874 attendees at its November 12 match against Hope in the NCAA III Regional final.

The Calvin men's basketball team also posted one of the top attendance totals in NCAA Division III last season, ranking third with an average of 1,266 fans-per-game. The Knights tallied a cumulative total of 18,985 fans over 15 home dates. Its top two home attendance contests were both against rival Hope with Calvin drawing 3,986 fans for a February 15 contest at Van Noord Arena and 2,105 fans for a February 25 contest which also marked the MIAA Tournament Championship final. In addition, 2,007 fans were able to witness Calvin clinching a share of the MIAA regular season title on February 11 in a win over Trine University at Van Noord Arena.

The Calvin women's basketball team posted a top-20 finish in the final attendance standings, averaging 535 fans-per-contest to rank 15th nationally. The Knights drew 5,887 fans over 11 home games with its highest attendance marks coming against MIAA competition. Calvin drew 1,304 fans for a November 30 contest against rival Hope and 1,237 fans for a February 11 contest against Trine.

The Calvin men's soccer team also posted a top-20 finish, ranking 16th amongst NCAA III men's soccer institutions. Calvin posted an average of 291 fans-per-game, drawing 3,495 spectators over 12 home games. Its top attendance mark took place on September 1 when it drew 584 fans to its season-opening win over Redlands University. It drew 486 fans to its MIAA Tournament Championship win over rival Hope on November 5 and 422 fans against East Beltline neighbor Cornerstone University on September 17.
