ALLENDALE, Mich. – Calvin seniors Isaac Jonker, Misael Martinez Vasquez and James Viel competed at the GVSU Last-Chance Meet on Tuesday.

Martinez Vasquez (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian HS) took eighth in the discus with a throw of 39.40 meters (129-3).

In the hammer throw, Jonker took seventh with a throw of 53.65 meters (176-0), just missing a career-best with his mark. Martinez Vasquez was 10^th with a throw of 47.38 meters (155-4), also just missing a career-best. Viel placed 12^th with a throw of 43.39 meters (142-4).

A handful of Calvin athletes are expected to compete at additional last-chance meets this weekend and also next week.
