Behind Braun, was Jack Marzolino (Byron Center, Mich./Byron Center) with a round of 81, Jackson Glanzer (Stevensville, Mich./Berrien Springs) with an 82, Gannon McDonough (Pentwater, Mich./Pentwater) with an 83, and Matt Turcotte (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian) with a round of 84.

Taylor University currently leads the tournament with a team score of 294, followed by St. Thomas (Fla) with 297 and Parkland with 304.

COACH'S COMMENT: "Day one was a struggle," Calvin men's golf coach Brian Bolt said. "We posted below average scores through the whole line-up. We knew it would be tough since the weather has kept us from practicing outside until just yesterday. Still, we need to sharpen our games quickly to be ready for the league AQ in a few weeks."

NEXT UP: Calvin men's golf returns to action tomorrow (Saturday, April 1) for day two of the Purgatory Intercollegiate.
