NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Calvin University women's tennis team lost at unbeaten Saint Mary's (Ind.) by the final of 8-1 on Wednesday.
Calvin (8-5, 1-2 MIAA) took one of the three matches in doubles thanks to the number-one team of
Emily Schellenboom (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) and
Catherine Grissom (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) winning 8-6.
Saint Mary's (13-0, 3-0) won the other two doubles contests by the scores of 8-4 and 8-5 to take a 2-1 overall lead in the match.
In singles play, the Belles were able to take home wins in all six matches to secure the overall win. Grissom took her number-four match to three sets before falling 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (10-8), while
Alexis Ganop (Riverview, Mich./Riverview Community) also fell in three sets in her number-five match the scores of 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3).

John Ross said "Now we have a few days off from competition to prepare for a tough schedule next week with three important MIAA matches next week, starting with Olivet on Monday."
NEXT UP: The Calvin women's tennis team will return to action on Monday, April 3, when it hosts Olivet in a match scheduled to start at 4:00 PM.
