GREENSBORO, NC – Calvin continued to hold a top-10 spot in the team standings at the NCAA III Championships with a pair of All-America swims on Thursday.
The Knights opened the meet by taking second in the 200 freestyle relay as the team of senior
Noah Holstege (Keswick, Va./Covenant School), senior
Jacob Heeres (Zeeland, Mich./Holland Christian HS), junior
Forrest Peterson (Middleton, Wisc./Middleton HS) and junior
Corey Campbell (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) touched the wall in a school-record time of 1:18.85, breaking the previous record of 1:18.98. The finish was the highest-ever finish by a Calvin men's relay at the NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships.
The Knights entered the meet as the top seed in the race and held the top spot through the prelims but were touched out by a Kenyon team that took first in 1:18.40. Kenyon went on to win four of the five events on Thursday.

Caleb Gemmen (Mentor, Oh./Home School), senior
Julien Camy (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) and Heeres took 11
th in the consolation finals with a time of 3:17.61. The 11
th place finish was good for a Second Team All-America swim for the Knights.
"We started off the meet with a bang, setting a school record in the 200 free relay," said Calvin head swim coach
Dan Gelderloos "We were beaten by a team that was on fire tonight but we have nothing to hang our heads about. To take second at the national championships with a school record is outstanding. We are doing some good stuff and having a great meet. We have several events left on the board and the goal is go right back at it tomorrow.
Action continues on Friday with morning prelims set for 10 a.m. with evening finals set for 6 p.m.
