EAST LANSING, Mich. – Calvin closed out competition on Saturday at the Spartan Invitational on the campus of Michigan State University.
Sophomore Delaney Sall (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) produced two of the top performances for the Knights, taking seventh in the 1500 meters (4:41.93) and fourth in the 800 meters (2:18.38). Her time in the 1500 meters currently ranks 15th nationally.
In the 100 meter hurdles, senior Renee Miller (Marlette, Mich./Marlette HS) was ninth with a time of 16.14.
In the 800 meters, freshman Maddie Helmus (Byron Center, Mich./South Christian HS) took fifth (2:36.24) while freshman Marissa McManus (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven HS) was eighth (2:41.37).
Sophomore Emma Allen (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian HS) took sixth in the unseeded 1500 meter run with a time of 5:24.33.
Calvin's 5,000 meter crew included freshman Catherine Kortman (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian HS) taking 13th (19:16.26), freshman Noami Dykstra (Grand Rapids, Mich./City HS) taking 14th (19:17.42) and junior Josian Aardema (Grand Haven, Mich./Western Michigan Christian HS) placing 15th (19:22.21).
Junior Katie Georges (Bartonville, Il./Limestone Community) placed 15th in the 400 meter dash (1:04.42) while freshman Judy Veldboom (Ellsworth, Mich./Ellsworth Community School) was 17th (1:06.22).
Senior Kelli Mannes (Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City Christian HS) was 17th in the 100 meters (13.66) and 18th in the 200 meters (28.75).
