The Calvin men's basketball team will face Elmhurst University this evening at 5 p.m. eastern time in a Sweet 16 round game in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Knights (22-8) will be competing in a four-team sectional tournament field on the campus of Case Western Reserve University. Case Western and Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tx) will meet in the second game on Friday night at 8 p.m.

Calvin is making its ninth appearance in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA III Tournament. Calvin is 46-23 all-time in NCAA III Tournament play. The Knights advanced to the Sweet 16 with a 77-71 first round win over No. 24 Saint John's (Mn) and a 76-64 win over No. 5 UW-Platteville.

Tonight's game will mark the second meeting between Calvin and Elmhurst with the Knights defeating the Blue Jays 75-57 back on December 1 at Calvin's Van Noord Arena.

The Knights are led in scoring by senior guard Luke Morrison who averages 19.4 points a game. Senior Thad Shymanski is next on the Calvin scoring list at 12.7 points a game.

Elmhurst is paced by senior guard Jake Rhode who pumps in 17.6 points a game while Lavon Thomas contributes 12.4 points per contest.

Friday's game marks the fifth meeting all-time between Calvin and Elmhurst with the Knights winning all four prior meetings.
