The Calvin-Hope men's basketball rivalry is set to be renewed Wednesday evening at Hope's DeVos Fieldhouse with the opening tip set for 8 p.m.
The two rivals will be meeting for the 206th time in a series that dates back to the 1920-21 season with Hope leading the series 105-100.
Hope won the first meeting, defeating Calvin 78-65 at Van Noord Arena on January 12. Since then, the Knights have won nine straight games and share the MIAA lead with Hope at 10-2 in conference play. Both teams have overall season records of 17-6.
The winner of Wednesday's showdown will clinch a share of the MIAA regular season crown. Calvin last won the MIAA regular season title during the 2014-15 season with Hope last winning the crown in 2017-18 when the Flying Dutchmen shared the crown with Olivet.
Calvin is led in scoring by senior Luke Morrison who averages 18.8 points a game. Hope's leading scorer Evan Thomas averages an identical 18.8 points a game. In the first meeting of the year, Thomas scored 25 while Morrison tallied 20.
Calvin is set to host Albion in its regular season finale on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. while Hope is slated to host Kalamazoo at 3 p.m. on Saturday in its final regular season tilt.
