Grand Rapids, MI – The Calvin University men's basketball team plays in an away conference matchup against Alma College on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Art Smith Arena.
The Teams: Calvin and Alma. The Knights enter the game with a 7-5 overall record and have a 0-1 MIAA mark. Calvin recently lost a conference match-up against Albion with a score of 70-62. The Coaches: Bill Sall is in his 3rd season as head coach of the Calvin men's basketball program. Ryan Clark is in his 3rd season as head coach of the Alma men's basketball program. He recently was the women's basketball coach for Alma before taking the men's head coaching position. In his first season, he guided the Scots to a 13-13 record and a berth in the MIAA Postseason Tournament.
The Players: The Knights have three players averaging double digits in scoring. Luke Morrison is averaging 18.4 points per game while teammate Thad Shymankski is averaging 13.8. Uchenna Egekeze is also averaging 11.9 points per game for the Knights. The Scots have two players averaging double digits in scoring with Cole Kleiver (16.6) and Brandon Rake (10.6).
