Grand Rapids, MI – The Calvin University men's basketball team will hit the road for a conference matchup at Albion College on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
The Teams: Calvin and Albion. The Knights enter the game with a 7-4 overall record and have a 0-0 MIAA mark. Calvin recently won a non-conference match-up against Wisconsin-Stout with a score of 97-88. The Britons enter the game with 4-7 overall record and a 0-0 MIAA mark. Albion recently lost against a non-conference opponent North American University this past Thursday with a score of 97-93.
The Coaches: Bill Sall is in his 3rd season as head coach of the Calvin men's basketball program. Jody May is in his 13th season as the head coach of the Albion men's basketball program. May got his 100th victory as head coach back in 2016. He has also coached two Division III select teams that have gone on tours to Holland, Belgium and Australia. He currently has an overall record of 170-154.
The Players: The Knights have three players averaging double digits in scoring. Luke Morrison is averaging 18.5 points per game while teammate Thad Shymankski is averaging 14.5. Uchenna Egekeze is also averaging 12.1 points per game for the Knights. The Britons have three players averaging double digits in scoring; Cortez Garland (17.7), MJ Barnes (15.9), and Justin McAbbe (10.2).
