ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Calvin women's indoor track and field team competed at the Bill Clinger Classic on the campus of Grand Valley State University on Friday.
Sophomore Delaney Sall (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) led the way by taking third place with a career-best time of 2:14.63 which places her sixth on the NCAA III Indoor Women's Track performance list.
Freshman Natalie Tebben (Lansing, Mich./Lansing Christian HS) was 29th in a career-best time of 2:29.50.
In the 3000 meter run, senior Sadie Heeringa (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) took first place with a school-record time of 9:46.32. Heeringa's time currently ranks fourth on the national list. Sophomore Jenna Allman (Ann Arbor, Mich./Saline HS) was 10th in a career-best time of 10:12.82. Senior Brynne Winiarski (Naperville, Il./Neuqua Valley HS) was 19th in a career-best time of 10:42.90.
Freshman Cora Moore (Phoenix, Az./North Phoenix Prep) was 21st in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.90.
Calvin's 4x400 meter relay of Sall, Moore, junior Katie Georges (Bartonville, Il./Limestone Community) and freshman Isabella Charron (Hamilton, Mich./Hamilton HS) was ninth in a time of 4:16.50.
Charron was 11th in the pole vault with a vault of 9-6 ¼.
Freshman Karen Bekhet (Whitinsville, Mass./Whitinsville Christian HS) had a stellar day, placing third in the shot put (37-9 ¼) and 10th in the weight throw (31-1 ¼). Sophomore Jane Dunlap (Kingsley, Mich./Kingsley HS) was eighth in the shot put with a throw of 32-10 ½.
Senior Renee Miller (Marlette, Mich./Marlette HS) was sixth in the pentathlon competition. She recorded a total of 2,822 points. She went 9.74 in the 60 meter dash, 2:48.89 in the 800 meter run, 4-6 in the high jump, 28-5 in the shot put and 17-7 ½ in the long jump.
Calvin returns to action next Friday, competing at the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Classic at Aquinas College.
