Grand Rapids, MI – The Calvin University men's basketball will host conference opponent Olivet on Wednesday evening with tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The Teams: Calvin and Olivet. The Knights enter the game with a 10-6 overall record and have a 3-2 MIAA mark. Calvin recently won a conference match-up in a thriller against Trine with a score of 55-54. The Comets enter the game with a 5-11 overall record and a 2-3 MIAA mark. Olivet recently lost a conference matchup against Albion with a final score of 88-79.
The Coaches: Bill Sall is in his 3rd season as head coach of the Calvin men's basketball program. Sam Hargraves is in his 3rd season as the head coach of the Olivet men's basketball program. During his first season as the Comets' head coach, Hargraves had a 6-19 overall record. One of the wins was an 88-73 upset victory over No. 18-ranked Carthage (Wis.) College. In a COVID-shortened 2020-21 season, he led Olivet to a 2-16 overall record. One of the wins was an 85-83 victory over Spring Arbor University, who had beaten Olivet earlier in the season.
