Grand Rapids, MI – The Calvin University men's basketball will host conference opponent Adrian on Saturday evening. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Van Noord Arena.
The Teams: Calvin and Adrian. The Knights enter the game with an 8-6 overall record and have a 1-2 MIAA mark. Calvin recently lost a conference match-up against rival Hope with a score of 78-65. The Bulldogs enter the game with a 3-11 overall record and a 2-1 MIAA mark. Adrian recently won a conference matchup against Alma with a final score of 108-80 this past Wednesday.
The Coaches: Bill Sall is in his 3rd season as head coach of the Calvin men's basketball program. Tim Kaiser is in his 1st season as the head coach of the Adrian men's basketball program. Prior to Adrian College, Kaiser spent a season as a part-time assistant coach at Muhlenberg University. He helped coach the team to their most wins since 2002 and to their first regional ranking in school history.
The Players: The Knights have three players averaging double digits in scoring. Luke Morrison is averaging 18.1 points per game while teammate Thad Shymankski is averaging 14.1. Uchenna Egekeze is also averaging 11.3 points per game for the Knights. The Bulldogs have fours players averaging double digits in scoring: De'Ovion Price (17.0), Connor Pelham (16.5), Robert Warrick (11.9), P'hariz Watkins (10.5).
