INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Calvin moved to 2-0 on the fall season with a 9-0 non-conference dual match victory at Anderson University Saturday morning.
In doubles action, senior Emily Schellenboom (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) and freshman Catherine Grissom defeated Anna Creech and Megan Long 8-4.
Senior Grace Brown (Middleville, Mich./Thornapple-Kellogg HS) and freshman Maggie Shoemaker were 8-5 winners over Madelyn Brown and Mogan Nation at No. 2 doubles.
Freshman Averi Lewis and junior Cameron Cyrus topped Jenna Kuntz and Morgan Oconitrillo 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.
Schellenboom then topped Creech 6-3, 2-6, 10-8 at No. 1 singles. Brown was victorious over Long 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.
Shoemaker rolled to a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles. Grissom was a 5-0 winner over Morgan Nation at No. 4 singles.
Cyrus defeated Claire Hannaford 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Senior Alexis Ganop (Riverview, Mich./Riverview Community HS) defeated Oconotrillo 6-0, 1-6, 10-1 at No. 6 singles.
NEXT UP: Calvin will host Cornerstone next Tuesday in a non-conference match at 4 p.m. at the Strikwerda Tennis Courts.
