MUSKEGON, Mich. – Calvin's reserve team competed at the Jayhawk Invitational on Saturday hosted by Muskegon Community College. The Knights finished fourth in a field of 16 teams with a score of 119 points.
Sophomore Carter Vande Vegte (Sioux Center, Ia./Sioux Center HS) was Calvin's top finisher, placing 22nd in 27:18 on the 8K course.
Sophomore Jacob Buit (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian HS) was 24th (27:22), junior Thomas Noble (Denver, Co./Denver Christian HS) 31st (27:46), senior Nathan Klaasen (Jenison, Mich./Unity Christian HS) 41st (27:57) and senior Michael Sisko (Algonquin, Il./Harvest Christian HS) 50th (28:15).
Sophomore Hayden VerHill (Pittsburgh, Pa./Trinity Christian HS) was 67th (28:44) and freshman Trent Sivils (Chesapeake, Va./Stonebridge School) 117th (32:42) to round out Calvin's finishers.
Grand Valley took first place in the team standings with a score of 36 points.
