The Teams: Calvin and Trine. The Knights enter in with an overall record of 0-1 and recently fell to Alma with a score 63-54. The Thunder enter the game with an overall record of 3-0 and recently won over Alma on January 20 with a score of 67-26.
The Coaches: Mark Christner is in his 2nd season as head coach of the Calvin women's basketball program. He finished with a record of 17-10 and made it to the MIAA Semifinals last year. Andy Rang is in his 2nd season as head coach of the Trine women's basketball program after being with the program for seven years prior as an associate head coach. He led them to winning the MIAA regular season championship and the MIAA Tournament in 2018-19.
The Players: Gabby Timmer was the only Calvin player to average double digits with 16.9 points per game, and she is also averaging 9.2 rebounds per game last year. The Thunder have two players averaging double digits throught three games. Kayla Wildman leads them in scoring with 13.0 and Kaylee Argyle is second in scoring with 10.3.
