Two members of the Calvin women's basketball team have received postseason awards which were released by the MIAA Friday afternoon.
 
Senior guard Anna Fernandez was named to the All-MIAA First Team while junior RyAnn Rohrer was named to the All-MIAA Second Team.

Fernandez (Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth Christian) earned her second career All-MIAA First Team nod after averaging 16.0 points (second in the MIAA) and 5.4 rebounds per game. She was the biggest scoring threat for the Knights as she shot 43.6% from the field while also shooting 34.3% from beyond the arc.
 
The senior started 21 games for the Knights this season and racked up 34 steals along with 46 assists. Fernandez reached double figures in all but one game this season with her new career high coming against Alma in January when she dropped 30 points.
 
RyAnn Rohrer
 
After missing last season due to injury Rohrer (Ludington, Mich./Ludington) returned this season and picked up right where she left off as she received All-MIAA honors for the second time in her career. The sophomore forward started every game for the Knights this season where she averaged 12.2 points and 8.0 rebounds (third in the MIAA) per game. 
 
She had the third best field goal percentage in the MIAA at 46.4% and recorded six double-doubles this season. Rohrer set a new career high when she brought in 15 rebounds against Alma this week while her career high of 21 points came against Olivet earlier this month.
 
With the help of their two All-MIAA honorees the Knights finished the regular season with a 16-10 record and a 10-6 MIAA record, good for fourth in the final standings.
 
The Knights will return to action tonight (Friday, February 27th) when they play one-seed Trine in the semifinals of the MIAA Women's Basketball Tournament presented by Colligate. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM in Angola, Indiana.
