Grand Rapids, MI – The Calvin University men's basketball will be at Albion College to face off against Adrian College in the semifinal of the MIAA Tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
The Teams: Calvin and Adrian. The Knights enter the game with an 15-10 overall record and are 9-5 in conference play. Calvin most recently won their final regular season game against Adrian with a score of 81-52. The Bulldogs enter the game with a 15-11 overall record. The Bulldogs defeated Hope College in the first round of the MIAA Tournament with a score of 83-73.
The Coaches: Bill Sall is in his 1st season as head coach of the Calvin men's basketball program. Nick Giard is in his 4st season as head coach of the Adrian men's basketball program. In the 2017-2018, the Bulldogs finished with a 17-9 overall record and 8-6 in the MIAA which was third in the standings and landed them a spot in the post season MIAA tournament.
The Players: The Knights have three players averaging double digits in scoring. Derrick DeVries is averaging 25.4 points per game while teammate Thad Shymankski is averaging 15.4. Alex Bos is averaging 11.4 points per game while also averaging 8.4 rebounds a game.
