Calvin University invites the public to attend the Calvin men's basketball game against Adrian Saturday afternoon at Van Noord Arena at 3 p.m.
This game marks the end of the regular season and nears the close of the 100th season of Calvin men's basketball.
There will be no admission charge to Saturday's game. The public is invited to attend free of charge as part of the 100-year celebration. During the afternoon, former coaches and players will be honored at Van Noord Arena.
Prior to the game, Calvin seniors Alex Bos, Derrick DeVries and Tony DeWitte will be honored. Throughout the game, former players will be honored along with several other celebratory events.
In addition, second place in the final MIAA regular season standings a first round bye in next week's MIAA Tournament will be on the line as Calvin and Adrian are tied for second with 8-5 records.
During the afternoon, former coaches and players will be honored at Van Noord Arena.
The Calvin men's basketball program has an overall record of 1438-712 since the 1921 season for a .669 winning percentage. Calvin has made the NCAA III tournament 21 times since MIAA teams became eligible in 1977. The Knights are 34-23 in those 21 tournament appearances with two NCAA lll titles, one third place finish, one fourth place finished, six top eight finishes and eight NCAA lll Sweet 16 appearances.
