Grand Rapids, MI – The Calvin University men's basketball plays at conference opponent Kalamazoo College Wednesday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The Teams: Calvin and Kalamazoo. The Knights enter the game with a 14-9 overall record and an 8-4 conference mark. Calvin recently won against Alma College with a score of 87-76. The Hornets enter the game with a 6-17 overall record and are 3-9 in conference play and most recently defeated Hope College with a score of 91-72 this past Saturday. In a January meeting between the two teams, Calvin defeated Kalamazoo 90-75 at Van Noord Arena.
The Coaches: Bill Sall is in his 1st season as head coach of the Calvin men's basketball program. Nick Giard is in his 1st season as head coach of the Kalamazoo men's basketball program. He was recently an assistant coach for the past two years at Williams College.
The Players: The Knights have three players averaging double digits in scoring. Derrick DeVries is averaging 25.7 points per game while teammate Thad Shymanski is averaging 15.9. Alex Bos is now averaging 11.4 points per game while also averaging 8.0 rebounds a game. The Hornets have two players averaging double digits in scoring; Tanner Blyly (17.0), Ben Reiter (14.6)

Recent History: Calvin is 125-44 against Kalamazoo all-time. The teams split both meetings in the regular season last year with Calvin winning at home and Kalamazoo winning at home. The Knights won the first meeting this year with a score of 90-75.
