The Calvin University men's basketball team opens up conference play at Albion College on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The Teams: Calvin and Albion. The Knights enter the game with a 6-5 overall record and have not played any conference games. Calvin most recently won a non-conference matchup against Grace Christian with a score of 100-90. The Britons enter the game with 9-2 overall record. Albion recently got a win against Case Western Reserve this past Saturday with a score of 74-69.
The Coaches: Bill Sall is in his 1st season as head coach of the Calvin men's basketball program. Jody May is in his 11th season as the head coach of the Albion men's basketball program. May got his 100th victory as head coach back in 2016. He has also coached two Division III select teams that have gone on tours to Holland, Belgium and Australia
The Players: The Knights have three players averaging double digits in scoring. Derrick DeVries is averaging 25.2 points per game while teammate Thad Shymankski is averaging 16.5. Alex Bos is now averaging 11.5 points per game while also averaging 7.9 rebounds a game.
The Britions have three players averaging double digits in scoring; Caden Ebeling (18.1 ppg), Quinton Armstrong (14.0 ppg) & Jamezell Davis Jr. (12.3 ppg).

Recent History: Calvin is 109-52 against Albion all-time. The teams split the series last year in the regular season with Albion winning 69-60 at Albion in January and Calvin winning 76-65 at Calvin in February.
