Grand Rapids, MI – The Calvin University men's basketball team plays in a home conference matchup against Albion College on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Teams: Calvin and Albion. The Knights enter the game with a 10-8 overall record and have a 4-3 MIAA mark. Calvin recently lost a conference match-up against Adrian with a score of 76-59. The Britons enter the game with a 16-2 overall record and a 7-0 MIAA mark. Albion recently got a win against conference opponent Olivet this past Wednesday by a score of 78-69.
The Coaches: Bill Sall is in his 1st season as head coach of the Calvin men's basketball program. Jody May is in his 11th season as the head coach of the Albion men's basketball program. May got his 100th victory as head coach back in 2016. He has also coached two Division III select teams that have gone on tours to Holland, Belgium and Australia
The Players: The Knights have three players averaging double digits in scoring. Derrick DeVries is averaging 24.7 points per game while teammate Thad Shymankski is averaging 16.2. Alex Bos is now averaging 11.6 points per game while also averaging 8.1 rebounds a game.
The Britons have four players averaging double digits in scoring; Caden Ebeling (17.6), Quinton Armstrong (13.5), Jamezell Davis Jr. (16.3), Cortez Garland (10.4).
