Grand Rapids, MI – The Calvin University men's basketball plays in a home conference matchup against Trine University. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Teams: Calvin and Trine. The Knights enter the game with an 8-6 overall record and are 2-1 in conference play Calvin picked up a 75-62 win over rival Hope College Wednesday night. The Thunder enter the game with a 9-5 overall record and are 3-0 in conference play. Trine defeated Adrian College 75-61 Wednesday night.
The Coaches: Bill Sall is in his 1st season as head coach of the Calvin men's basketball program. Brook Miller is in his 8th season as the head coach of the Trine men's basketball program. His tenure has included eight consecutive top-four MIAA finishes and were the 2019 MIAA Regular-Season Champions this past year. This was the first MIAA championship in Trine men's basketball history. The Thunder have posted an overall record of 124-86 under Miller.
The Players: The Knights have three players averaging double digits in scoring. Derrick DeVries is averaging 24.5 points per game while teammate Thad Shymankski is averaging 16.7. Alex Bos is now averaging 11.9 points per game while also averaging 7.9 rebounds a game.
