Box Score ENGLEWOOD, Fla. - Calvin collected a 19-7 victory over Cazenovia University Monday night to open a three-game spring break set in Florida.
Calvin (4-1) led 14-5 at halftime and forced a running clock less than two minutes into the second half.
Senior Lauryn Slachter (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) erupted for a career-high seven goals while grabbing two ground balls.
Senior Genevieve Schneeman (Farmington, Mich./Farmington HS) and freshman Megan Gilbert (Lansing, Mich./Holt HS) had three goals apiece. Schneeman also had three assists.
Junior Jaimie Van De Burg (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) tallied a goal, two assists and six draw controls. Gilbert also won six draws.
Also scoring single goals for Calvin were junior Allyson Mesman (Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville HS), sophomore Julia Schaefer (Clarksville, Md./Annapolis Area Christian HS), junior Sarah Hall (Harare, Zambabawe/Chisipite Senior School), senior Skylynn Gyuro (Warwick, NY/Storm King School) and junior Elizabeth Wiley (Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian HS).
Senior Ellis Chalfant (St. Louis, Mo./Mary Institute and Country Day School) had four saves in just over 52 minutes of action. Sophomore Megan Economou (Hartland, Mich./Hartland HS) went the final 7:35 in goal and chalked up a save.
Calvin returns to action on Wednesday when it takes on Farmingdale State at 8 p.m.
