DETROIT, Mich. - Calvin fell at Division II Wayne State Friday night by a score of 149-87.

Calvin entered the meet ranked 19th in Division III while Wayne State came in ranked 23rd in Division II.

Senior Kendall Murphy (Modesto, Ca./Home Schooled) had a strong evening, winning the 500 freestyle (5:29.12) while placing third in the 1,650 freestyle (18:39.29).

Sophomore Hannah Chao (North Farmington, Mich./North Farmington HS) was second in the 100 backstroke (1:00.27) Freshman Samantha Sonday (Portage, Mich./Portage Central HS) was second in the 500 freestyle (5:36.89). Sophomore Emily Gunderson (Ann Arbor, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer HS) was second in the 50 freestyle (25.04).

Calvin returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Alma for a dual meet scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
