Box Score ANGOLA, IN – The Calvin women's lacrosse team remains unbeaten in league play after a 16-4 victory at Trine University Friday afternoon.
The Knights are now 4-5 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Calvin grabbed a 9-0 halftime lead and never looked back. Sophomore Emily Ceferatti continued her torrid scoring pace with five goals to go with three ground balls and four draw controls won.
Freshman Amanda Davio also had five goals on six shots and caused three Trine turnovers.
Junior Carolyn Forbes was also up to the task with four goals. Senior Lindsey Ryskamp had a goal and three assists.
Senior Karissa Reed had a monster game with a goal, three assists, and eight draw controls. Junior Corry Remy had four saves in goal.
As a team, Calvin outshot Trine 37-10 including a 22-2 margin in the first half. The Knights were also successful on 10 of 13 clear attempts.
"We possessed the ball really well today," said Calvin women's lacrosse coach Blake Boehem. "We controlled the draws and transition game which gave us the momentum we needed to be productive. Our defenders and our goalie were very solid and didn't allow any easy opportunities for the Trine attackers. Offensively we were smart and protected our possessions. We moved the ball well and waited the right opportunities to score. The deciding factor today was our ability to clear efficiently and stifle their attempts."
Calvin is back in action on April 7 when it hosts Urbana University in a non-conference game at 5 p.m. at Zuidema Field.
