Calvin University senior Hailey Erickson was named MIAA Athlete of the Week for women's cross country on Monday.
 
Erickson (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) won the honor for her performance at Calvin's home meet, the Knight Invite, held at Gainey Athletic Facility on Saturday.
 
At the event, Erickson fought rainy and muddy conditions to finish the 6k race in 22:33.8, good for 10th place in a field of strong competition. Erickson's time was the fastest by any runner from outside of Grand Valley State University at the meet.
 
With Erickson leading the way, the Calvin women finished second with 56 points, trailing only GSVU's winning total of 15 points.
 
This marks the third time Erickson has earned MIAA Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors after previously winning it once each during the 2023 and 2025 seasons.
 
Calvin cross country will return to action on Saturday, September 26, at the Adrian Invite hosted by Adrian College.
