The annual Calvin athletics golf outing took place on May 18 at the Egypt Valley Country Club in nearby Ada, Michigan. It marked the fourth straight year Calvin has held its tournament at the club.

The golfers battled stormy weather conditions mid-round and finished the competition under sunny skies in the evening. 

The 36-hole course allowed two separate 18-hole competitions to take place. There were two scramble tournament competitions – one on the upper course and one on the lower course. Winning the Calvin Scramble Tournament on the lower Valley Course was the team of Hans Pruis, Schuyler Pruis, Taylor Pruis and Jack Marzolino with a score of 14-under. The team of Josh Petrusma, Max Sieplinga, David Zwiers and Ben VanScoyk took second at 12-under, winning a playoff hole for the second place team nod. Winning the Calvin Scramble Tournament on the upper Ridge Course was the team of Rob Dykstra, Jeff Overway, Tony Karsten and Nate Karsten with a score of 16-under. The team of Dave Smith Paul Radlinski, Chris MacKenzie and Scott Grinwis took second at 15-under.

Calvin Director of Athletics Dr. Jim Timmer expressed words of gratitude for the host site and the participants.

"I would first offer my sincere words of appreciation to Egypt Valley Country Club for giving Calvin University the opportunity to once again hold our event at its prestigious club," said Timmer. "It is a beautiful layout with two challenging courses. It was wonderful to have a full tournament field all competing in the afternoon. Again, many words of thanks go out to Egypt Valley Country Club. I would also like to thank the many supporters of the Calvin Athletics Department who supported us both in sponsorship and through the competition this week. It was a wonderful day to play golf and enjoy each other's fellowship. The support that we received and have continued to receive over the years through our tournament is amazing. It provides vital resources and opportunities for our teams and student-athletes. We are extremely grateful for this support."
