Jacey Smith was named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week for women's lacrosse on Monday.
Smith (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) earned the honor after helping the Knights to a 2-0 week with wins over Albion College (19-10) and Kalamazoo College (12-9) to help Calvin improve to 9-5 on the season and 3-1 in MIAA play.
In the two wins, Smith scored 11 total points with 10 goals and one assist with an 82.9 percent shooting percentage over the two games. She scored four times against the Britons in the first game, and then added six goals against Kalamazoo to end the week.
This season, Smith ranks second on the Knights in both points (49) and assists (14). She is also tied for third on the team with 35 goals.
Calvin women's lacrosse will return to action on Wednesday, April 15, when it plays at St. Mary's College in a game scheduled to start at 6:00 PM.
