Drew Garrison Named MIAA Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the Fourth Time

Calvin University junior Drew Garrison was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week for men's lacrosse on Monday.

Garrison (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) earned the honor for his performance on defense in the Knights' 17-15 win at Albion College on April 8, which marked the first time the Knights have beaten the Britons in men's lacrosse in program history.

In the two-goal win, Garrison recorded five caused turnovers and seven ground balls despite missing the last 22 minutes of the contest due to an injury.

This season, Garrison has recorded 57 ground balls and caused 38 turnovers to help the Knights to a 10-2 record overall and a 3-0 start to MIAA play.

His is ranked 10th nationally in caused turnovers per-game (3.18).

This marks the fourth time Garrison has won Defensive Player of the Week honors from the MIAA, including the second time this season. He also was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team of the Week for the second time this season last week.

Calvin men's lacrosse will return to action on Wednesday, April 15, when it hosts Adrian College in a game scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.
