Calvin's Drew Garrison Receives USILA Honorable Mention All-America Honors

Calvin junior Drew Garrison has been named a Division III Honorable Mention All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).

He is the first player in Calvin men's lacrosse history to receive the award.

A defenseman, Garrison (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne HS) put together an outstanding junior campaign for the Calvin men's lacrosse team, causing 52 opponent turnovers and scooping up 70 ground balls.

Garrison's 52 caused turnovers is the second-highest single-season total in Calvin men's lacrosse history. He is ranked ninth in the latest NCAA III men's lacrosse statistics in caused turnovers per game (3.25).

During the season he was a two-time USILA National Team of the Week selection. He was also named a two-time MIAA Defensive Player of the Week and he landed a spot on the All-MIAA First Team.

In league play, he led the MIAA in caused turnovers per-game with an average of 3.40 CT's per league contest.

Garrison helped the Calvin men's lacrosse team produce a landmark season as the Knights finished 13-4 overall, setting a Calvin program record for victories in a season. He also helped Calvin finish second in the MIAA at 5-1 in conference play, marking the program's best conference finish.

In addition, he was part of a Calvin team that reached the MIAA Tournament Championship game for the first time in school history.
