ALBION, Mich. – The Calvin University women's tennis team put together a dominant 7-0 sweep of Albion College to improve to 2-1 in MIAA play on Saturday.
Calvin (4-6, 2-1 MIAA) lost only three games to Albion (3-10, 0-3 MIAA) on the day on the way to the win.
In doubles, both the Calvin one-doubles team of
Marina Ribeiro (santos Sal Paolo, Brazil/Santa Cecilia) and
Ryan Morey (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Northern) and three-doubles team of
Elise Norman (Kalamazoo, Mich./Lakeview) and
Rachel Grissom (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) won 6-0, while the two-doubles team of
Tessa Holman (Washington, Mich./Romeo) and
Julia Hooker (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) won 6-1 to earn the doubles point.
In singles, the Knights dropped only two games on the way to the sweep.

Ana Ornellas (Londrina, Brazil/Colegio Saber) and
Sabrina Lopez (Steger, Ill./Illiana Christian) each won 6-0 and 6-0. Morey (6-1, 6-0) and Hooker (6-0, 6-1) both dropped only one game on the way to wins.
NEXT UP: Calvin women's tennis will return to action on Wednesday, April 15, when it travels to Trine University for a match scheduled to start at 4:00 PM.
