Drew Garrison was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week for men's lacrosse on Monday.
Garrison (Worthington, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) won the honor following Calvin's weekend victories over Wooster (14-13 OT) and Carthage (13-10) as the Knights improved to 5-0 on the season.
In the win over Wooster, Garrison played a huge role, collecting four ground balls and causing four opponent turnovers. In overtime, he forced Wooster into a turnover deep in Calvin territory and followed with a long lead pass to set up a fast break game-winning goal by the Knights.
In Saturday's win over Carthage, he was credited with six ground balls while causing two opponent turnovers.
This marks the third time Garrison has been named MIAA Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week in his career.
Calvin men's lacrosse will return to action on Thursday, March 12, when it faces St. Joseph's College of Connecticut in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The game is scheduled to start at 12:30 PM (MT).
