A program record 11 Calvin student-athletes have received All-MIAA Men's Indoor Track and Field honors for the recently completed 2026 MIAA indoor track and field season. Calvin has landed nine of its MIAA Indoor Champion track and field athletes on the first team and two on the second team.

KOBY VANDERWOUDE (Caledonia, Mich./Caledonia HS)
VanderWoude is receiving All-MIAA 1
st Team honors for indoor track and field for the third consecutive year. At the MIAA Indoor Championships last Saturday, VanderWoude anchored Calvin's first place 4x400 meter relay team to a winning time of 3:24.82.
CONNOR LUBBERTS (Jenison, Mich./Jenison HS)
Lubberts is receiving All-MIAA 1
st Team honors for indoor track and field for the third consecutive year. He was a member of Calvin's MIAA champion 4x400 meter relay team. He also placed fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 50.95.
CONNOR JOHNSON (Kingsley, Mich./Kingsley HS)
Johnson is receiving All-MIAA 1
st Team honors for the first time in his career. He was the MIAA champion in the long jump on Friday with a leap of 22-9. He also placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 43-5 ¼.
ZACH VAN BAREN (Hudsonville, Mich./Covenant Christian HS)
Van Baren is receiving All-MIAA 1
st Team honors for the first time in his career. He was the MIAA champion in the heptathlon with 4,878 points. He also placed fourth in the long jump (21-6 ¼) and second in the 60 meter hurdles (8.42).
SIMON VANDENBROEK (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS)
Vandenbroek is receiving All-MIAA 1
st Team honors for indoor track and field for the first time. He was the MIAA champion in the high jump this past Friday, winning the event with a school record jump of 6-7 ½. He was the 2025 MIAA outdoor champion in the high jump.
ABE VANDUINEN (Pentwater, Mich./Pentwater HS)
VanDuinen is receiving All-MIAA 1
st Team honors for the first time in his career. He helped seal the MIAA team title last weekend, winning the 800 meters in a time of 1:57.53. The winning race helped build a 38-point Calvin lead with just three events left in the men's competition. Earlier in the meet, he came up with a key second place finish in the mile run, out leaning a competitor for second in the wire, finishing with a time of 4:15.95. During the season, he was named MIAA Indoor Track Athlete of the Week once.
ALEXANDER NELSON (Snow Hill, Md./Snow Hill HS)
Nelson is receiving All-MIAA 1
st Team honors for the first time in his career. He was a part of Calvin's MIAA champion 4x400 meter relay team. He also placed sixth in the 400 meters with a time of 51.47.
ZACH HARTEMINK (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS)
Hartemink is receiving All-MIAA 1
st Team honors for the first time in his career. He came up with a clutch performance for the Knights in the pole vault on Saturday, winning the event with a vault of 14-7 ½. He was part of a 1-4 Calvin finish in the event that helped build points late in the meet.

LUKE NGUYEN (Houston, Tx./ Carl Wunsche Sr.)
Nguyen is receiving All-MIAA 2
nd Team honors for indoor track and field for the first time. He was a key point producer for Calvin at the MIAA Championships. Nguyen took second in the triple jump (45-8) and was sixth in the long jump (21-4 ¾).
ERIC BARANCIK (Montrose, Mich./Chesaning HS)
Barancik is receiving All-MIAA 2
nd Team honors for indoor track and field for the first time. He came up with a key second place finish in the high jump on Friday at the MIAA Championships with a personal-best jump of 6-6 ¼.
Led by head coach
Adam Haldorson, the Calvin men's track and field team captured its first MIAA Indoor title since 2017 this past Saturday, finishing the meet with a final team score of 191 points, 26 points ahead of rival Hope.
